This is a follow-up to the previous post about the DOPP Kit. Every traveling man needs the proper toiletries [of course] but these items make up Louis Vuitton’s “perfect travel wardrobe for men.” You need to be ready for any occasion and weather, therefore LV says these garments are necessary:

1. A Polo.

Marc Jacobs 'Cole' Zip Front Polo

2. A Pullover

Marc Jacobs "Cut It Out" Sweatshirt

3. A Suit.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Lightweight Wool Suit

4. A Leather Biker Jacket [my bad…even though it’s only a slight difference].

Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Motorcycle Jacket

5. A Trench.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Metal Twill Trench Coat

6. A Duffle Bag to put everything in.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Duffel Bag

I chose to use all Marc Jacobs clothing and accessories because he’s the Creative Director of LV, so it just seemed right.

  1. The #2 Pullover totally channels this Lagerfeld bag: http://www.highsnobette.com/news/2009/03/04/karl-lagerfeld-bag/

  2. I dont know about that leather jacket point. I do agree with most of the items, but a leather is a bit too character specific. I find that everything else in this menu is needed at one point or the other, but a top coat (separate from trench coat) makes a statement about the wearer and I feel deviate from standard wear as the rest of these items are.

Just my 2 cents. Also, why did I think the hoodie dude was wearing a chain with two big ass eyes on it?

  3. Agreed. Leather jackets are always character specific (The Fonz vs. Shaft). Top coats, in my opinion, are also character specific. I would almost go as far as saying that the two are mutually exclusive (most guys traveling with top coats have no need for a leather jacket on the trip, and most guys traveling with leather jackets have no intentions on wearing a top coat). Either way, the jacket/top coat suited to the traveler should accompany him — not rest suffocated inside the suitcase.

  5. I adore the leather biker jacket. I wish every man owned at least one because they’re such a hot accessory. Rarr.
