Street Style = Runway Edge

with 3 comments

Maybe it’s just me but street style has really been influencing menswear lately. Sagging pants has always been a part of street culture, then it was adopted by pop culture, and then the runway. BUT UHHH states are trying to pass legislation against sagging pants but it’s ok if the likes of Zac Effron do it. While it may not be “sagging” in the strictest sense CALVIN KLEIN is definitely being edgy by showing a lil’ underwear…and I aint talking about his ads from the early 90s.

I know some of my Urban Grads know about this one…the ” ‘wife beater’ tucked into boxers” look. Or according to creative director Italo Zucchelli “dress shirt tucked into boxer briefs” look. How’s that for Casual Friday. LOL. Get ’em Mr. Zucchelli.

  1. I just can’t get into this trend. I always find it looks cheap, especially as a wannabe runway statement in these CK shots. This look would fail miserably when the dude sits down and his boxes bag out of his dress pants- never a sexy thing.

CK, please stick to androgynous naked models with glistening bodies and tight boxers.

  3. I actually find the trend sexy, and I know I’m probably in the minority. It depends on the occasion. If it’s somewhere casual, then sagging pants is cool, but even that’s dependent on if the guy’s fit and has a nice butt. Otherwise, it’s a turn off for me.
